My monitor works when connected to a laptop but what is wrong with my tower? ahhh..?

It was working fine a few months ago b4 i moved, now i go hook it up after sitting for a few months too (yes it was protected) and now nothing. I checked for loose connections and even opened up my tower to check for loose fittings and nada.. can anyone help please!!!
